Having become one of the emblematic monuments of the capital, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart throne at the top of the butte Montmartrein the 18th arrondissement of Paris. A night at the Sacré-Cœur

Hard to believe, but yes: for only 15 euros you can spend your night in the dormitory or in the rooms of the Basilica of Sacred Heart. Since 1885, this monument on the Butte Montmartre has welcomed travelers within its walls, day and night, throughout the year, except Good Friday. That said, one condition is necessary to be received in this place: between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., you will have to devote one hour to the prière within the basilica.

Night prayers since 1885

This nocturnal welcome is not surprising, however, since the mission of the Sacred Heart is precisely to constantly maintain prayers within the basilica over the years. And since August 1, 1885, this prayer relay has continued to be respected by faithful Christians, despite wars and the Covid-19 pandemic. An exception, however, takes place on Good Fridaythe only day of the year when the sacred calendar grants a break.
