However, the American president seems determined to go all the way, even if it means possibly sacrificing the results of the Republican Party during the election which will take place in November.

This is potentially what Donald Trump implied by announcing during his speech to the nation that the price of oil would continue to rise.

For political analyst Georges Mercier, the “possibility that stands out more and more is that the American president has already accepted the fact that he was going to lose these elections, that the Democratic Party would make gains and that, therefore, he no longer has to take them into account in his calculation politics.”

“If that is the case, then perhaps he himself is ready to impose on the Americans a very high price at the pump, a significant increase in the barrel of oil. Why? To achieve its objectives, still poorly defined in Iran, and in this way, write its name in the history of great American presidents,” said the doctoral student in political science at Sciences Po Paris, in an interview with LCN.
