Cade Cunningham’s return to the court after recovering from a collapsed lung was a success as the Detroit Pistons triumphed over the Milwaukee Bucks 137-111 in their final home game of the regular season at Little Caesars Arena. Cunningham contributed 13 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds on 6-of-11 shooting, showcasing his impact on both ends of the floor.
Isaiah Stewart also made his comeback from a calf injury, scoring eight points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting night. The Pistons’ team chemistry was evident in Cunningham’s return, with seven players scoring in double figures. Jalen Duren led the team with 21 points, nine rebounds, and three assists on 8-of-9 shooting.
Duncan Robinson and Ronald Holland II delivered impressive performances as the Pistons secured a 3-1 victory in the regular-season series against the Bucks. Detroit’s improvement in three-point shooting, knocking down 14 three-pointers and shooting 47 percent from beyond the arc, was crucial in the win.
Despite their past struggles in three-point shooting, the Pistons’ potential to become more consistent from long range could play a significant role in their pursuit of an NBA championship. The team is nearing the milestone of 60 wins for the first time since the 2005-06 season, aligning them with the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs as the only other teams to achieve this feat.
Looking ahead, the Pistons aim to get closer to reaching the 60-win mark as they face the Hornets in Charlotte on Friday night. Tip-off at the Spectrum Center is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
