The President of the Republic and his wife, Brigitte Macron, spent four days in Northeast Asia for an official visit marked by several highlights, including the inauguration of the Center Pompidou Hanwha, in Seoul, on April 3.

Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron flew to Northeast Asia on March 31 for an official four-day trip with two stops, the first in Japan, the second in South Korea. The objective? Strengthen France’s diplomatic ties with these two countries and their representatives before their participation, next June, in the G7 in Evian, in Haute-Savoie. The stakes were particularly high for the President of the Republic, forced to address the war in Iran which also affects Washington’s two allies.

Homage to Japanese culture

The head of state and his wife held numerous diplomatic meetings over four days. Finally, the presidential couple went to South Korea for two days punctuated by several highlights, including a state banquet with K-pop stars already invited to Paris by Brigitte Macron for the Gala des Pièces Jaunes, but also the inauguration of the Center Pompidou Hanwha, Seoul.
