JAKARTA – The top diplomat of the European Union (EU), Kaja Kallas, accused Russia on Thursday of providing intellectual support to Iran in the Middle East war to “kill Americans.” The EU’s foreign policy chief also called on the United States to increase pressure on Moscow.

“We see that Russia is helping Iran with intelligence to target Americans, to kill Americans, and Russia is also supporting Iran now with drones so they can attack neighboring countries and American military bases,” Kaja Kallas told reporters at a G7 meeting outside Paris, Al Arabiya announced from AFP (27/3).

“These wars are very interconnected. If the United States wants the war in the Middle East to stop, Iran to stop attacking them, they must also pressure Russia so that it cannot help them in this regard,” he added, referring to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

It is known that the United States and Israel have launched airstrikes against Iran in a campaign called Operation Epic Fury (American version) or Operation Roaring Lion (Israeli version) since February 28, killing more than 1,340 people, including the supreme leader at the time, Ali Khamenei.

The mullahs’ country has retaliated with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting American military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure, as well as disruptions to global markets and flights.
