At the heart of the event, the Amaryllis competition brings together professional florists, amateurs, schools and young talents. All take on the same challenge: invest in a room and imagine, in two days, a composition in harmony with its decor. For this anniversary edition, the participants revisit significant creations from the decades past, from photographic archives. A way of bringing together memory and modernity, tradition and innovation.

In a fairy tale atmosphere, each installation tells a double story, between homage and reinterpretation. The exhibition is not limited to contemplation: musical atmosphere, creative workshops, photo space invite visitors to extend the experience. For 40 years, this spring event has established itself as an unmissable event, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Supported by the family of the Princes of Ligne, the initiative continues to evolve, supporting the young generation and constantly renewing the link between heritage and creation.

From April 4 to 12 at the Château de BelÅ“il. www.chateaudebeloeil.com

Design at child height

From April 1 to September 20 at the Design Museum Brussels

Starting this week, “Designing Childhood. A history of design for children”, invites us to explore the evolution of design intended for children throughout the 20th century. Co-organized with the Center Pompidou, the exhibition highlights children’s furniture as a true design laboratory. In the 20th century, the child gradually asserted himself as a user in his own right, transforming the approaches of creators. From the post-war period to the 1960s, the rise of plastics and new processes liberated forms: furniture became lighter, more playful and adapted to the imagination of the youngest. The course also highlights the richness of Belgian design, attentive very early to social, educational and environmental issues.

The hillsides light up

April 4 and 5 in Liège

For a weekend, the hills of Liège offer an immersive walk, between lights, shows and heritage. The Coteaux de la Citadelle Weekend transforms the heights of Liège into an open-air artistic journey. Alleys, staircases and secret gardens come alive with concerts and performances. From the Bueren mountain to the more discreet paths, the public is invited to stroll by candlelight, discovering a heritage sublimated by contemporary creation. Free and open to all, the event offers another way of experiencing the city: poetic, friendly and timeless.
