Actress Mariska Hargitay will be swapping her crime-solving skills for the bright lights of Broadway.

Hargitay, 62, known for her role as Olivia Benson on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” since 1999, will take over from Daniel Radcliffe in the Broadway production of “Every Brilliant Thing.”

Radcliffe’s limited run in the play ends on May 24, as reported by The New York Times.

“Every Brilliant Thing,” written by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, tells the story of a person whose mother tried to commit suicide. The characters try to lift her spirits by listing things that make life worth living.

Hargitay expressed her excitement about the play, saying, “I’m always drawn to themes of healing and renewal, especially when the journey is portrayed in all its complexity.”

The play’s director, Jeremy Herrin, praised Hargitay’s warm, funny, and vulnerable qualities, noting her background in comedy and improv as key factors in her casting.

Hargitay recently ventured into directing with the documentary “My Mom Jayne,” which explores the life and legacy of her mother, actress Jayne Mansfield.

Mansfield tragically passed away when Hargitay was just 3 years old in a car accident in Louisiana.
