A man from Connecticut has been charged with the murder of a firefighter in Bridgeport, the police announced on Sunday. Stratford Police arrested Jabari Bush after finding Terrence Cramer with a gunshot wound on Feeley Street in Stratford. Cramer, a resident of Bridgeport, passed away shortly after paramedics arrived at the scene.

Terrence Cramer, a 41-year-old father of three, had been a member of the Bridgeport Fire Department for almost ten years. He was honored by the department in a Facebook post following his tragic death. Mayor Joe Ganim expressed his condolences, describing Cramer as a valued member of the fire department and a dedicated public servant.

Shanyah Neal Walker, Cramer’s stepdaughter, spoke fondly of him, highlighting his bravery and compassion. Colleagues remembered Cramer as always the first to help those in need. Cramer’s son, Jackson, shared that firefighting was his father’s passion, as he enjoyed saving people and wanted to be a firefighter himself.

The suspect, Bush, was apprehended in Derby after a brief pursuit and now faces charges of murder, home invasion, and criminal possession of a firearm. While the details leading to the shooting have not been disclosed, Cramer’s family is focusing on remembering him and maintaining mercy towards the perpetrator.

The tragedy has deeply affected the community, leaving Cramer’s loved ones devastated and struggling to come to terms with the loss. Mayor Ganim has ordered flags at municipal buildings to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Terrence Cramer’s memory.
