President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Accountant-General of the Federation to set up a special account for a fund dedicated to those who serve, injured soldiers, and families of fallen heroes on the occasion of his 74th birthday. President Tinubu made the announcement on Sunday as part of activities to mark his birthday and honor the brave men and women of the Armed Forces.

The President urged Governors, members of the National Assembly, the private sector, and friends to donate and support the initiative. He emphasized his personal commitment by directing all his salaries since taking office to be paid into this account as seed funding. This fund aims to provide direct support to individuals who have suffered injuries in the line of duty, as well as the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

President Tinubu stressed the importance of recognizing the efforts of those who put themselves in harm’s way for peace, along with the sacrifices made by their families. He emphasized that supporting this cause is not charity but a duty that must be fulfilled. The details of the account will be released in the near future.
