CahorSauzet Basket 77 – Ouest Toulousain Basket 97
M.T: 39-59 for Ouest Toulousain.
Quarters: 18/26; 21/33; 22/17; 16/21.
CSB: 9 baskets from 3 points / 17 baskets from 2 points / 16 successful free throws out of 25 attempts / 2 players eliminated for 5 fouls: Dronjak and Nsumbu / 24 Turnovers.
Egnakou 5 points / Dronjak 3 points / Zachée 6 points / Nsumbu 14 points / Thiandoume 6 points / Mendes 4 points / Diakhaté 21 points / Lambert / Bethune 9 points / Abatan 9 points.

CahorSauzet was completely outclassed in this encounter between the 6th-placed CSB and the 4th-placed Ouest Toulousain Basket.

The suspense only lasted seven minutes (13/14). Despite a 5-0 start by the Lotois, the Toulousains were much more aggressive defensively and offensively from the early minutes onwards. Diakhaté tried to hold it together in attack, but he was on his own!

Thanks to a strong performance by Diakhaté, scoring 3-pointers (six in the match), the Lotois still had hope at 27-33 in the 13th minute. However, Castanier’s men did not defend well, allowing a 3-point basket on every Ouest Toulousain Basket attack, an area where the visitors excelled. The Lotois were overpowered in all aspects of the game and were trailing by twenty points at halftime (39-59).

Only one quarter won by CSB

In the third quarter, Diakhaté was pretty much alone for the Lotois (scoring 21 points on Saturday night). The “yellow and blues” were too fragile defensively to hope for anything, and the gap remained despite the Lotois winning 22-17 in this third quarter (the only quarter of the match won by CSB).

In the fourth and final quarter, every time CSB had a good attack, their defensive inconsistency allowed the visitors to score 3-pointers or make a two-plus-one play.

Ouest Toulousain Basket sealed the victory with a 20-point lead (97-77) against the Lotois, who are still unable this season to beat a Top 5 team and, due to the results of the evening, remain in sixth place.

In the curtain-raiser, in Regional 3, CahorSauzet 2 claimed their eleventh consecutive victory as the leaders of their promotion pool after defeating Vaquiers-Bouloc (71-58).
