Still expected for this summer, Ratatan, the spiritual sequel to Patapon, shares some very bad news with us. It is in a post shared on the game’s Kickstarter page – we recall that the title had collected more than a million euros in 2023, via its crowdfunding campaign – that the developers of Ratata Arts shared with us information which should disappoint a lot of players.
In fact, the Japanese studio announces having to give up on the release of the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 versions of their game, to focus only on the latest generation of machines. A strategic decision taken in consultation with the publisher Game Source Entertainment, justified by the fact that these two supports would only be likely to generate few sales compared to the costs incurred.
You will therefore have to fall back on the Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions if you want to obtain a copy on consoles. The good news is that Ratatan will be provided on a real cartridge in its physical version to be released on Nintendo Switch 2pour a release date set for July 16 next on all the media concerned.
