Directors deploy all their creativity in 2 minutes 20.
Home stretch for the 16th edition of the Nikon Film Festival! After receiving more than 2,500 projects (a record), the festival unveiled its official selection, made up of 50 short films and 8 mini-series in competition. A key step before the awards ceremony scheduled for April 16 at the Grand Rex.

Since 2009, the Nikon Film Festival has invited all creators to create very short works (2 minutes 20 minutes) around an imposed theme. A constraint that has become a signature, which encourages inventiveness while making creation accessible to as many people as possible.
A 2026 selection under the sign of beauty
This year, the festival revolves around a theme: beauty. A common thread that runs through all of the selected works and gives rise to multiple interpretations: aesthetic, intimate, social or even political.
In total, 198 projects (including 58 in competition) were selected and divided into five sections: the official short film competition, the mini-series competition (in partnership with the CANNESERIES festival), the Regard des Femmes Selection, the Tremplin Selection dedicated to amateur teams, and the SensCritique Selection.
Faced with the constant increase in the number of participants, two new selections were also created in order to further highlight the diversity of the proposals and emerging talents. Four new prizes are also appearing, including two distinctions dedicated to photography and screenwriting for mini-series, as well as gender-neutral acting prizes.
