Police officers from BAC 75N have expressed in recent days their anger at not having been decorated with national orders more than ten years after the attack.

“There are indeed the files of a certain number of members of the BAC night 75 which are being examined”assured this Wednesday morning on France Info the Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nunez, while police officers from the anti-crime brigade who worked in Paris at night (BAC 75N) have expressed in recent days their anger at not having been decorated more than ten years after their heroic intervention at the Bataclan.

On November 13, 2015, around twenty members of BAC 75N entered the performance hall, notably to rescue victims while the heavily armed terrorists were still present on the Bataclan floor. One of their leaders, Guillaume Cardy, even neutralized one of the terrorists with his service weapon, putting an end to the mass killing.

After a first article dueMonde  published Sunday, Alain Giraud, a police officer from BAC 75N now retired, confided Tuesday onRTL His disappointment at not having received the Legion of Honor promised by Emmanuel Macron or the medal of the city of Paris, subject to validation by the Ministry of the Interior. “When you have actors and singers who have this decoration, it makes me a little angry. We are despised”he castigated.

“We are working on it”

The Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nunez, responded to this anger this Wednesday morning on France Info. “I understand the bitterness. I know the BAC N well and I know the remarkable work they do and the role they played that evening.”began the minister.

“In this case, all the participants, most of the participants for the Bataclan, received the internal security medal, which was given in the months and years that followed. And then the question arose, at the request of the President of the Republic, of national orders, that is to say the national order of merit, the Legion of Honor, that’s what we’re talking about.”a-t-il détaillé.

“We must determine the precise role of each of them. That evening it was complicated, there were a lot of people involved. So there is a whole history to reconstruct. At the request of the President of the Republic, on November 13, the participants from the BRI (research and intervention brigade, Editor’s note) and the RAID (for research, assistance, intervention and deterrence, Editor’s note) who intervened on site were decorated and had national orders. It’s about sixty people.”then explained the host of Beauvau.

“At this very moment, the president has asked me to work on a case-by-case basis, depending on the commitment of each person to bring them into the classic promotions that are taking place, the National Order of Merit and the Legion of Honor. We are working on it. And there are indeed the files of a certain number of members of the BAC night 75 which are currently being examined. The president asked me to do it and I’m doing it. This is a file that we have taken over with the President of the Republic to be ready for last November 13 for the ten years. This file continues, it is a file which is still alive”also assured the minister.
