Canal+ has added three new channels and upgraded to UHD HDR on the satellite. An update that requires a quick check-up of your settings to avoid ending up with strange colors. If you feel like your remote control is acting weird, don’t worry: it’s normal. Canal+ took advantage of the night of March 29 to March 30, 2026, to deploy an update on its decoder. Looking at the list of new features, the 4K HDR is here to stay on the satellite, along with three new themed channels and a reorganization of channel numbers. Be wary of some technical pitfalls to avoid facing a frustratingly black screen.

UHD HDR: Satellite Upgrade The highlight of this update is the push towards UHD HDR on the satellite. France 2, Canal+, and the special 4K channel are now in UHD HDR on their usual channels. For movie lovers, Canal+ Box Office also gains in definition by switching to UHD (in SDR, however) on channel 13. The issue? HDR technology is finicky. If you have an old or poorly detected TV, forcing the “Activ” setting on your decoder is the quickest way to mess up your colors or lose the image altogether. The advice is simple: leave the setting on “Auto.” Let the decoder communicate with your TV to determine compatibility.

As for content, three new channels are introduced, but pay attention to the reception mode. Love Nature (animal documentaries), Dogs & Cats (for pet fans), and Canal+ Magic (French version of an African channel) are only available through ADSL, fiber, or the app.

BFM Business and RTL Get the Boot To make room, sometimes you have to shift things around. This time, it’s the news and radio pillar that takes a hit on the satellite. BFM Business is leaving the satellite broadcast permanently, along with the M6 group radios (RTL, RTL2, and Fun Radio). They remain accessible online and through fiber.

As a direct consequence of these movements, the documentary channel numbering shifts a few slots. Ushuaïa TV is now on channel 115, Histoire TV on 117, and Discovery Channel on 119. It may seem minor, but enough to make you miss the start of a program out of habit. On TNT, the shift also affects Seasons and TV Monaco.
