Adapted from the successful manga by Kocha Agasawa, The Ramparts of Ice is a real phenomenon in Japan, accumulating more than 160 million views on a site dedicated to manga and nearly 2 million copies sold. The theme? Adolescence through a female character who struggles to form bonds with others until she meets a boy determined to make her change. Netflix took this story and made it into an anime, available from April 2, 2026.
The series benefits from careful production from the studio STUDIO KAI, known for several recent animation projects, with production by MANQ, and a screenplay supervised by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, two veterans of Japanese animation. The Japanese dubbing reunites Anna Nagase, who has already stood out in Time Shadows et Jujutsu Kaisen 2,ÂFuka Izumi (Assassin’s Creed Shadow), as well as Shoya Chiba, seen in Blue Lock et 86Â Eighty-Six.

Koyuki Hikawa is a lonely high school student who maintains an emotional distance from others. Closed in on herself, she only really sees one person: her long-time friend, Miki Azumi. But her daily life is turned upside down when Minato Amamiya, a classmate, begins to take an interest in her and tries to break down the walls she has built around herself.
