The MCFA (Maison de la Culture Famenne Ardenne) has been hosting the annual exhibition “Posters for Peace” by the Lions Clubs Marche-en-Famenne since Saturday, March 28. This exhibition is part of the International Peace Posters competition organized by Lions Clubs International.

This program encourages children aged 11 to 13 to creatively express their vision of peace. This global competition has been running for over thirty years, providing young people from around the world the opportunity to share their vision of peace. “Our exhibition, themed ‘Harmony in Humanity’ this year, will be held until Wednesday, April 8 in the hall of the Maison de la Culture Famenne-Ardenne (MCFA). Our Lions Club has brought together the municipal schools, the Free schools, the Royal Athénée, and the specialized school in Marloie, totaling 14 schools,” said the members of the Lions Club Marche. “In total, more than 500 posters (to be exact, 536) have been created by children under the guidance of their teachers.”

For each network, the Lions Club Marche-en-Famenne will award prizes to each network after selection by a jury of artists, with a special public prize complementing the jury prizes. Additionally, 18 posters will be selected to participate in the national selection in May and possibly the international selection. “Visitors to the exhibition can also vote for their favorite drawing until Tuesday, April 7. A public prize will be awarded accordingly. Visitors can cast their vote in the ballot box located in the MCFA reception hall,” the organizers explained.

The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 4:00 p.m. at the MCFA.
