The official website has unveiled a third trailer for the anime Nippon Sangoku The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun (The Nations of the Bloody Sun) directed by Kazuaki Terasawa (The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2)!
The animated series Nippon Sangoku, which consists of 12 episodes in total, will be streamed starting from April 5, 2026 on the Amazon Prime Video platform.

Synopsis – The Nations of the Bloody Sun
In the near future, at the end of the Reiwa era, Japan is gradually collapsing. Unable to keep up with artificial intelligence, the country is then indirectly hit by a worldwide nuclear war, causing a massive influx of refugees, an epidemic, and a series of natural disasters. These crises lead to a general uprising and a sharp decline in society, akin to the end of the 19th century.
Japan ends up fragmenting into three rival nations: Yamato in the west, Buo in the east, and Seii in the north, each engaged in an armed struggle for power, following a narrative structure inspired by the Chinese novel The Three Kingdoms.
The story begins in a rural area of the Yamato territory, where young Aoteru Misumi sees his life overturned when his wife Saki is brutally executed by an officer of the regime shortly after their marriage. Yamato is then ruled by the Taira clan, led by Denki Taira, a lord whose influence surpasses even that of the emperor.
Fueled by the desire to transform this corrupt society and end injustices, Aoteru goes to Osaka, the capital of Yamato, to take the exam that would allow him to serve under General Mitsuhide Ryumon, a strategist renowned for his moral compass. Unlike traditional heroic figures, Aoteru does not fight with force: his weapon is his words. Through his rational speeches and his ability to expose the injustices of the system, he manages to shake even the most powerful.
