After three months of hiatus, the anime One Piece returns with the highly anticipated Elbaf arc. The series adopts a new rhythm and will offer 26 episodes per season, instead of its usual weekly releases.
This change will allow for a better follow-up of the story and appreciation of the animation, already remarkable since the Wano Country saga. Fans will reunite with Luffy and his crew facing new allies and enemies, and finally discover the past of the giants of Elbaf.
Crunchyroll announced that the broadcast will begin on April 5th, but the exact time is still unknown, and the dubbing does not have an official date yet. The official Netflix Anime X account specifies that the series will be available on the platform starting from April 11th.
Thus, the episodes will appear on Netflix only a week after their broadcast in Japan. Furthermore, the platform is gradually adding episodes in small parts. Currently, only a few episodes of the Whole Cake Island arc are available, with many more to come.
Before reaching the kingdom of Alabasta, the Straw Hat crew made a stop at Little Garden, where they met Dorry and Brogy, two giants who have been fighting for over a century. These warriors spoke to them about their homeland, Elbaf, populated by proud and powerful giants. Fascinated, Luffy and Usopp finally prepare to travel to this legendary realm. Since this encounter, the Elbaf arc has become the most anticipated in the series.
The crew will have the opportunity to join the giants’ crew after the battle on Egghead. However, before arriving, Luffy and half of the crew find themselves separated and plunged into a mysterious diorama.
The manga began this arc in September 2024 with chapter 1126. It has solved several mysteries about the history of the realm and introduced some of the series’ most powerful characters. The story also provided significant answers about the God Valley incident that occurred 38 years ago.
New characters, both allies and enemies, will appear in the upcoming arc of the anime. As the Elbaf arc continues the legend of the sun god Nika, fans will discover more about the forgotten past and its connection with Luffy. The arc continues in the manga and now has over 50 chapters, making it one of the longest and most important arcs of One Piece.
