The Dark Perk Ergo from Be Quiet! has been available since February 2026 and it clearly has no reason to be ashamed of the competition, here is our test.
It’s launched, be quiet! expands its offering and extends well beyond PC components. The German brand is now present on the gaming keyboard market with the very good Dark Mount, but also in the field of mice with the new Dark Perk Ergo, available since February 2026. A sober and minimalist mouse, but a remarkable entry into the field for a first product.
The gaming mouse Dark Perk Ergo is also a relatively affordable device since you can find it for a little less than a hundred euros. It therefore has everything it takes to appeal to players looking for performance and comfort while limiting costs. And in these times, savings are precious and be quiet! played finely.
A classic but effective design for the Dark Perk Ergo…
Black, black and more black, the Dark Perk has crazy class despite a very minimalist design. It’s classic, certainly, but necessarily effective. The surface of the Dark Perk Ergo is smooth and soft without any frills. The clicks have a slightly cyber design, with straight, plunging diagonal cuts which give it a slightly aggressive look. In the center sits a large dial, very responsive and ribbed for optimal grip. It’s a shame that the finish of the two clicks doesn’t completely capture it. Instead, we have a small space that the most picky will certainly find a little crude. On the left edge, slightly reinforced to give it an ergonomic size for right-handed people, there are two buttons which protrude sufficiently to be activated without the slightest effort.

.. which hides a little surprise
The Dark Perk is relatively general at first glance, but still attempts a little madness. By turning it over, we discover that the mouse is open and that it is possible to see its insides. A bold design choice, which allows the weight to be reduced to reach 55g on the scale. Yes, it’s not much, but it’s not one of the lightest. If it is not really annoying, this atypical design still raises questions about the longevity of the mouse. What about dust infiltration? Dirt buildup on circuits or sensors? Impossible to determine this in a few weeks of use, but the question still arises in the long term.
More classic, there are two large, smooth white pads which ensure impeccable stability and gliding (we were able to test it on two mats of different ranges, the results are very convincing). The sensor is accompanied by two buttons allowing you to switch between connectivity modes and DPI profiles. Thanks to its lightness, it is quickly forgotten and limits effort during long sessions, while allowing gentle gestures to gain precision. The grip and glide of the Dark Perk Ergo are really excellent, a very pleasant mouse overall.

Very convincing performances
It’s all the more pleasant as it is powerful and efficient as a bonus. The Dark Perk Ergo is equipped with a PixArt PAW3950 sensor which has already proven itself in terms of precision and response rate. With a refresh rate of up to 8000 Hz (regardless of the connectivity mode chosen) and 32,000 DPI max, the mouse has no reason to be ashamed of the competition. It even holds its own against more high-end ones. In game, on FPS like Valorant and PUBG or MOBAs like League of Legends, it responds to the finger and the eye without flinching. The sound of the clicks is also very soft and discreet, although slightly hollow. For tinkerers, the Dark Perk Ergo mouse is also compatible with the be quiet! software, the famous IO Center. The handling is again very fast and accessible to everyone, a few clicks will be enough to start calibrating your profiles. It is perhaps less versatile than certain competitive applications, but it is more than enough to get the best performance from the Dark Perk Ergo.
The mouse also comes with a reinforced and braided USB-C cable, as well as an adapter for the 2.4 GHz dongle so that it can be connected to an A and C port as well. It will therefore be possible to use the Dark Perk Ergo wirelessly or wired, but unfortunately not via Bluetooth. In terms of autonomy, be quiet! assures us that it can easily last almost 110 hours wirelessly. We would tend to believe them, although we did not directly check the watch in hand, but recharges were very infrequent during our test period.
