The DLSS 4.5 settings are finally migrating to the application side, with concrete and immediate gains for players. No more waiting for game-by-game patches, the app takes control.
DLSS 4.5 in the app: global and per-game overrides
NVIDIA is deploying a stable version of DLSS 4.5 overrides within NVIDIA App, after a beta phase last week. Activation is done in the Graphics tab, globally or by title, with choice of a maximum refresh target or a custom framerate.
Dynamic mode is not compatible with framerate limiters or V-Sync at this stage. Beta users must unsubscribe and then relaunch the app to install the stable update.
Multi Frame Generation 5X/6X and new FG model
The app introduces Multi Frame Generation 5X and 6X options. On compatible titles, the scale can go up to 6X. NVIDIA announces up to 35% more performance in 4K in path-traced games when going from 4X to 6X on GeForce RTX 50 Series.
A new Frame Generation model is arriving for the GeForce RTX 40 Series and RTX 50 Series. It leverages more engine data in supported titles to improve the sharpness of minimaps, static interface elements, and other UI components when imaging is enabled.
DLSS 4.5 et mises à jour côté app
NVIDIA is continuing its strategy of DLSS updates at the application level rather than waiting for native fixes. Titles like Samson and Dawn of Defiance can already benefit from recent versions of Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation options via the app.
This refocusing accelerates the diffusion of DLSS improvements and standardizes the experience, with finer user control of framerate targets and profiles per game. The current limits around V-Sync and image sensors will, however, impose trade-offs in certain competitive configurations.
