Appeared with the Xbox 360, achievements have become a norm for Xbox players (and for those on PlayStation with trophies). Your progress in the game and/or certain challenges, sometimes frankly complex, allow you to unlock the achievements in question which are counted gradually to increase your player score. A principle greatly appreciated by the community which, it must be said, has not evolved much since its appearance, already 20 years ago. At least until today…
Indeed, we learn thatAn update and modifications will be made to the achievements. The first of these concerns their appearance which will be different depending on the type of achievement unlocked. As said previously, some are quite rare or even difficult to unlock, and it is the latter which will be highlighted by the game with the help of a slightly more attractive visual. Interestingly, the color of the success will match the one you chose if you customized the appearance of your menus. This concept is quite similar to what we can see on the PlayStation side with trophies ranging from bronze to platinum, including silver and gold.
Another possibility: you can now hide the games on which you have unlocked achievements. This allows you to clarify your profile a little, and possibly remove titles that would bother you or that have disappointed you. Please note, however, that this is not a matter of deleting them, which means that they will still be taken into account in your overall score. Finally, the games that you have completely completed (meaning that you have unlocked 100% of the achievements) will be highlighted on your profile, just to highlight your performance.
Finally, know that these modifications are only the first in a series of others which will be put forward in the future. Microsoft is actively working on the best way to highlight player results, which is entirely appreciable.
