At the end of March, Asus registered the references “ROG CROSSHAIR 2006” and “ROG CROSSHAIR X870E EDITION 20” with the Eurasian Economic Union. Names which coincide with the 20th anniversary of the ROG range, born in 2006, and which leave us waiting for commemorative motherboards on the AMD side.

On the AMD MSDT ecosystem, the current top at Asus is the ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial. The arrival of an “EDITION 20” suggests a high-end version focused on design and finishes, potentially with integrated water cooling as standard, reworked RGB zones, and a reinforced bundle. The words “2006” seem to be a direct echo of the founding year, possibly via a retro screen print or anniversary packaging.

What the name suggests

The suffix On an anniversary model, Asus could push the aesthetics and the finishing processes, from powder coating to CNC machined inserts, without touching the already well-equipped technical base of the Glacial.

At this stage, these are administrative deposits, without technical data sheet or price. But the commercial logic is clear: mark ROG’s 20 years in the motherboard segment, the brand’s historic territory, with a limited series that capitalizes on the Crosshair image in the face of rival AIBs and the stretching AM5 renewal cycle.
