G2 Esports started the LEC Spring 2026 regular season with a convincing victory against Team Heretics. After an excellent performance on Sivir, French botlaner Hans Sama spoke during the post-match interview. He returned to his domination during the laning phase, his synergy with Labrov and his mental preparation techniques.

Assumed aggression and a botlane under control

After securing victory on the first day of this second week of competition, Hans sama answered Finn’s questions on stage, notably discussing the secrets of his consistency at the highest level and his relationship with his new support, Labrov.

Asked about the apparent ease with which he and his support secured a 2v2 elimination, the G2 Esports player admits with amusement to having forgotten this precise action, preferring to remember the overall intensity of their performance: “Wait, we took a kill in 2v2, is that true? I had forgotten. […] In fact, I was happier with our first game because in 2v2 during the lane phase, I would say the matchup was to their advantage. But in the first round, even though we died, we had all the pressure. So Labrov and I are pretty happy with our laning phase today. HAS”

Visualization as a psychological weapon

Finn then recalled an anecdote dating from the time when Hans sama played for Rogue: to dominate his opponents, the botlaner had the habit of mentally visualizing the brutal destruction of his opponent before each match. The Frenchman confirms that this method is still part of his routine: “Yes, I always do it. It’s a ritual to be stronger on my lane. I’ve been doing this for a while, just to be mentally prepared before I hit the botlane, to feel totally… super “alpha” to beat them. I’ve always worked like that. HAS”

Transmitting trust to Labrov

Hans Sama also tries to instill this dominant mentality in his teammate Labrov to maximize the aggressiveness of their duo. If he doesn’t force him to close his eyes to visualize the opponent’s defeat, he makes sure to put him in the best possible mood: “I try to give him confidence as soon as I can, so that he wants to destroy them wholesale. I like to give Labrov that confidence and I can see that he is super aggressive at times. Sometimes he does very good things, so bravo to him. He plays very well. HAS”

Asked about his preference for very proactive supports, who do not hesitate to move forward rather than staying behind, the botlaner concludes by emphasizing the importance of personal investment to dominate this aspect of the game: “Yes, absolutely. I think that in the botlane, there are always a lot of things that we can control. It all depends on the amount of effort one is willing to put in to improve. HAS”

G2 Esports will try to maintain this momentum and constant pressure in their next meeting of the regular season. The meeting is made this Sunday, April 5 against Fnatic around 7 p.m.
