The Esports Nations Cup is taking clearer shape each day. After the Esports Foundation revealed the national managers and partners for the ENC in late March, India’s situation has also become much clearer marking what could be a pivotal moment in the country’s esports history. NODWIN Gaming has been officially appointed as India’s national team partner and announced during an April 1st live stream that India will compete across 11 out of 16 possible game titles at the upcoming Esports Nations Cup.

The selected games include Dota 2, Chess, PUBG Mobile, PUBG Battlegrounds, VALORANT, Counter-Strike 2, EA Sports FC, Rainbow Six: Siege, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, and Apex Legends. Notably, India will not field a team for League of Legendswhich has surprised many observers.

This is particularly unexpected given that India is set to participate in the 2026 Asian Gamesand the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) opened registrations earlier this year for its National Esports Championship, the qualification tournament for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.

Regional Differences

India’s situation stems from the fact that two different organizations manage its international esports representation: ESFI oversees the Asian Games delegation, while NODWIN Gaming is responsible for the ENC. By contrast, some neighboring countries take a more unified approach.

In Indonesia, for example, Pengurus Besar Esports Indonesia manages the national teams for both the Asian Games and the ENC. Interestingly, Indonesia has chosen not to participate in the Asian Games but will compete in League of Legends at the ENC. Meanwhile, Thailand and Myanmar have confirmed they will also skip the League of Legends bracket.

Fans of the Asian League of Legends can still expect elite representation. The Esports Foundation has confirmed that South Korea, managed by KeSPA, will take part and with no doubt, will field one of the tournament’s strongest rosters. For context, —a full Korean lineup—won the latest Esports World Cupwhile and claimed the inaugural 2024 edition.

On the Chinese side, the delegation formed by All Gamers, Anyone’s Legends, Bilibili Gaming, and Trace Esports is expected to participate as well, ensuring fierce competition for the LoL trophy.
