The Vietnamese national e-sports team is aiming for the global stage, preparing to participate in the Nations e-sports Cup for the first time. This marks a shift from amateur and club sports to a high-performance sports model linked to national identity.
In the context of ongoing global digital transformation, e-sports is becoming a intersection of technology, sport, and creative economy. More than just entertainment, e-sports is gradually becoming an essential element of the digital economy, generating value through content, media, and a complete ecosystem of associated services.
With over 28 million participants and a growing ecosystem, e-sports in Vietnam has been recognized as a new driver for the growth of the sports economy and international integration. The investment in e-sports, tied to the sports economy, is gradually becoming a strategic priority, aligning with Vietnam’s development strategy for sports up to 2030 and beyond.
As the official partner for the ENC 2026 in Vietnam, the Vietnamese e-sports entertainment association (VIRESA) will coordinate national e-sports teams in various disciplines, athlete selections, and long-term training and competition platforms.
The Vietnam team plans to participate in 10 sports disciplines, focusing on areas where they have strengths such as PUBG Mobile, VALORANT, League of Legends, and more. The journey towards the global stage signifies an elevation of standards, broadening competition, and solidifying Vietnam’s position in the digital sports sector.
Vietnamese e-sports athletes have excelled in regional and international competitions, showcasing their talents on a global scale. Notable achievements include victories in various tournaments and competitions, solidifying Vietnam’s reputation in the e-sports realm.
The Esports Nations Cup, taking place every two years, aims to complement the Esports World Cup and contribute to a competitive ecosystem where clubs and national teams coexist. For Vietnam, participating in the ENC 2026 is not only a competitive milestone but also a strategic step towards national, professional, and integrated e-sports development.
Building on a strong foundation, Vietnamese e-sports is gradually asserting its position, leading the country’s sports sector into a new era of development within the global digital economy.
