Key points on the new Galaxy A37 and A57 5G smartphones

  • The new Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57 5G smartphones offer excellent value for money.
  • The 45W wired charging sets them apart, even outperforming the Galaxy S26.
  • Thanks to aggressive promotions by carriers, the A series is expected to sell well once again.

Listen up: the most popular smartphone on the market is probably not the one in your pocket… or on your wishlist.

According to Counterpoint Research, the best-selling iPhone in 2025 was the iPhone 16 – not the iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Pro Max. As for Samsung, the Galaxy A16 5G topped the rankings, followed by the Galaxy A06 4G. Surprising, isn’t it?

That’s why smartphones like the new Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G are so important.

For carrier store customers

They are competitively positioned, with prices and features that make them attractive to arguably the most critical user base: carrier store customers. The A series is among the most accessible phones, with frequent promotions like “buy one, get one free” and “free phone” offers that align well with the power of the Samsung brand.

You probably won’t see TV commercials or billboards for mid-range Samsung phones.

But I bet that within a year, I’ll be writing about how they quietly became the brand’s best sellers in 2026, surpassing models like the Galaxy S26 series and foldables. And I’m more optimistic than ever about this. Here’s why.

Game-changer

With this year’s Galaxy A series phones, Samsung did something quite bold: offering faster wired charging than the more expensive Galaxy S26.

The Galaxy A37 5G at $429 and the Galaxy A57 5G at $549 both support 45W charging, surpassing the over 1000 euro Galaxy S26, which is capped at 25W.

People primarily care about price, battery, and storage capacity. Yes, in that order.

So sophisticated screens protecting privacy, built-in stylus, and the abundance of unnecessary AI features talked about more as you move up the price range are more or less optional.

Few downsides

And it’s reassuring to see that the list of downsides regarding the cheapest Samsung phones has shortened over time. We’re talking only six years of OS and security updates (compared to Samsung’s previous commitment of eight years), entry-level Exynos processors (compared to Qualcomm Snapdragon or MediaTek processors), and the lack of wireless charging.

In a broader context, Samsung’s new A series presents a formidable offering that even rivals its flagship models.

Between the 6.7-inch AMOLED screens, versatile four-camera system, and 5,000 mAh batteries, you have a well-balanced duo of phones that will likely dominate the market in 2026, especially during upcoming sales periods. And that’s even if we don’t hear much about them.
