Quickly, AirDrop has been integrated into the Galaxy S26. After launching earlier this week in South Korea, Samsung has now rolled out this feature in Europe. This greatly simplifies file exchanges between their new smartphones and Apple products. Here’s how it works!
AirDrop continues to expand to Android, with Galaxy S26 finally getting a taste in our region
The Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 are no longer the only ones able to enjoy AirDrop, a file-sharing technology previously only available on Apple products. After South Korea, Europe and India can now enjoy it on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.
This is made possible through an update of Google Play Services, as well as the latest Samsung smartphones. “The Galaxy S26 series is currently receiving its second software update, via version AZCF. The update file is about 900 MB and includes support for sharing via AirDrop,” shared Sammy Fans.
Therefore, this new feature is activated by default. All that remains is to share files with Quick Share to locate nearby Apple products, select one, and instantly wirelessly send photos, videos, documents, etc.
This is a non-negotiable asset to disrupt the harmony of the Apple ecosystem. The more Android smartphone manufacturers adopt AirDrop, the more iPhone users will consider switching sides. They will no longer lose this sharing advantage, allowing them to communicate just as easily with their other Apple products, as well as others.
It’s worth noting that Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S26 will not have exclusive access to this new feature, declaring “an extension to other devices will be announced later.”
