On the 1st of April 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne founded Apple. The American company will soon celebrate its 50th anniversary. Tim Cook, the current CEO of Apple, plans to celebrate this milestone properly. The festivities kicked off with free concerts at the Apple Store on the Champs-Elysées.
Apple has another major anniversary to celebrate in 2027: the 20th anniversary of the iPhone. For this occasion, the tech giant plans to skip the “iPhone 19” and jump straight to the iPhone 20, aligning with the smartphone’s age. Apple has reportedly developed a very unique screen for the iPhone 20.
The iPhone 20 is said to feature a curved edge screen. According to sources, the smartphone will have a screen with curved edges on all four sides, eliminating visible borders. Experts like Mark Gurman and Majin Bu also believe that the iPhone 20 screen will have curved edges to maximize display space. Craig Hockenberry, an iPhone app designer, previously hinted in 2025 that Apple was working on a borderless iPhone.
In addition to the borderless screen, the iPhone anniversary edition is rumored to include a revamped HDR sensor and a brand-new modem. However, it seems unlikely that Face ID will be integrated under the screen of the iPhone 20.
