According to a press release published on the official website of the US Embassy in Morocco, this historic transfer marks a new chapter in the lasting partnership between United States and the Morocco.

All activities of the Consulate General will be transferred to the new site from its various facilities, including the administrative building located on the boulevard Moulay Youssef and the center culturel Dar America currently located at Place Belair, Gauthier, specifies the press release.

According to the same source, April 21 will be the last day of provision of services to American citizens and visas at the old building, while April 28, 2026 will mark the resumption of these services to Casa Finance City (by appointment only).

Regarding Dar America, the press release indicates that it will close its current building on April 10, before reopening on May 5 at Casa Finance City.

During the transition period, the text emphasizes, American Citizen Services (ACS) will remain available to provide emergency assistance to American citizens in Morocco. The most efficient way to access it is via the US Citizen Services Portal.

Located in the heart of Casa Finance City, the new consulate reflects the depth of historical and cultural ties between Morocco and the United States, which are celebrating the 250th anniversary of their relations. The complex combines contemporary American architecture and Moroccan influences, with sustainable elements such as solar energy, water-saving developments and easy access to public transport.

“By opening the doors of our new consulate general in Casablanca, we celebrate not only a modern symbol of American diplomacy, but also 250 years of enduring friendship between the United States and Morocco,” declared Ambassador Duke Buchan, quoted in the press release.

“We are delighted to welcome our visitors to our new site. This infrastructure will strengthen the ties between our two countries and improve our services. We look forward to continuing our joint work in this new chapter,” noted Consul General Marissa Scott.

Morocco was the first country to recognize the United States in 1777, and this partnership has continued to strengthen. With this new consulate, Morocco welcomes both the oldest and the most recent American diplomatic representation: the American legation in Tangier and the new complex in Casablanca, notes the press release.

According to the same source, the project represents an investment of more than $300 million, creating hundreds of jobs and contributing up to $100 million to the Moroccan economy during its construction. The site is a candidate for LEED® certification, in recognition of the project’s environmental commitment.
