In this context, a new raid has just taken place in the Paris region, involving what some are already identifying as the ” Chanteloup band “, with 6 new arrests made in this town of Yvelines (Chanteloup-les-Vignes), but also in Épinay-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis).
Facts reported by Le Parisien at the start of the week which concern an intervention carried out last Friday in connection with a case at the beginning of January, involving a manager of a crypto company and his family kidnapped and assaulted for loot ultimately estimated at 11,000 euros in cryptocurrencies.

Criminals who wanted to reoffend
According to available information, the 6 men arrested, aged 18 to 37, are now under indictment for acts of kidnapping, extortion with weapons and criminal conspiracy.
It must be said that this affair in Verneuil-sur-Seine, in Yvelines, had particularly marked people’s minds following a particularly violent case of extortion, involving blows to the parents of this family while their 2 children were not far away, tied with cable ties.

Apparently, this same “ Chanteloup band » would also be at the origin of other attempted attacks, including one targeting a holder of cryptocurrencies domiciled in the town of Puteaux (Hauts-de-Seine), having led to the establishment of police surveillance last January.
It now remains for French justice to determine the sentences that will be inflicted on these criminals, while the co-founder of the Ledger company, Eric Larchevêque, demanded last February: “ exemplary sentences, such as life imprisonment, for people who carry out this type of kidnapping with sequestration or mutilation ».
