Passionate about writing and the press, Yves Dupetit was a correspondent for the Nouvelle République de Tarbes for many years.
Born on December 5, 1942 in Poudenas, near Mezin (Lot-et-Garonne), Yves Dupetit, affectionately nicknamed “Titou”, was above all a man of heart, deeply attached to his family. Michèle for 60 years, he shared with her a life of complicity and love. He leaves behind his two children, Chantal and Pascal, as well as his grandchildren, Cédric, Clara and Clément, of whom he was particularly proud.
An innovative and human teacher
A graduate of the Agen Normal School, he began his career as a teacher in Saint-Romain-le-Noble, in a unique class where he quickly distinguished himself through innovative and human teaching.
Convinced that school should also be a place of fulfillment, he introduced theater and photography, awakening the curiosity and creativity of his students.
He then continued to the Agen annex school, where he imagined original end-of-year shows, leaving memories of demanding and joyful moments.
His enthusiasm and generosity have a lasting impact on colleagues and students.
Having become an educational advisor in Tonneins, then a collaborator with the National Education Inspectorate in Lourdes, he supported many teachers with kindness, always keen to transmit and promote each one.
A man of action passionate about sport
A man of action, Yves Dupetit is also involved in running Aérospatiale holiday camps, where he knew how to create a unique atmosphere, combining humor, organization and conviviality.
Sport played an essential place in his life. A passionate rugby player, tennis player, often victorious in tournaments, but also a lover of cycling and walking, he cultivated a taste for effort and sharing.
Curious and open to the world, he followed the news carefully. Upon retirement, he became a correspondent for the local press, in this case for the Dépêche and Nouvelle République de Tarbes and Pau, putting his pen and his perspective at the service of Ger’s life. Through his articles and careful photographs, he helped bring village events to life, particularly within the USEP rugby club and volleyball. Yves Dupetit leaves the memory of a committed, generous, deeply human man, but also funny and full of life.
A man who loved to transmit, share and bring together. A religious ceremony will be celebrated in the Ger church on Wednesday April 15 at 2:30 p.m., followed by a tribute at the Azereix funeral home at 4 p.m. A moment of sharing around a snack will then be held at the deceased’s home.
The newspaper sends its condolences to his family.
