Creating a balanced university environment is not limited to the acquisition of knowledge, but is based on complementarity between academic knowledge, psychological well-being and social and economic integration, underlined the president of the University of Tunis El Manar (UTM), Moez Chafra.
Speaking at the opening of the first awareness session on risky behavior in a university environment, recently organized at the Higher Institute of Human Sciences of Tunis, Chafra affirmed that the success of the university career depends on the student’s ability to manage his daily life and to face, with lucidity, the different pressures and challenges, while avoiding risky behaviors likely to hinder their progress and negatively affect their results.
According to a press release published Friday by UTM, Chafra also called on students to seize the opportunities offered by the university and to take advantage of the supervision and support mechanisms made available to them.
The event was an opportunity to present several interventions relating to addiction in all its forms and dependence in addition to discussing the dangers of risky behavior, particularly in a context marked by mutations and accelerated digital transformation.
Means of prevention as well as support and support systems in a university environment were also discussed with a view to limiting the spread of these behaviors and promoting a sense of responsibility.
