Shortly before classes started at eight o’clock on April 3, more than 70 students of all levels gathered in front of the main gate of the Bonaparte high school in the city center. “We are here to show our disagreement with the elimination of the position of the third principal education advisor (CPE),” underlines a high school student present. With his other classmates, whose number increased during the morning thanks to the students of the technological center, the students intended to make themselves heard until noon.

Since the beginning of the week, the organizers of this movement had communicated with other high school students so that this movement would be as broad as possible. “With the high school union we have an Instagram account where we post stories,” underlines the final year student. Clinging to this CPE post, the demonstrators hope that their movement can play a role and help it to be preserved. “Without it, we will lose a lot of clubs within the establishment,” protested the young man who also went to see the sub-prefect of Autun, Amaury de Barbeyrac, to inform him of the situation.

Schools and RPIs affected by announced class closures

According to a list drawn up and distributed by the FSU 71 SNUipp union bringing together the openings and closings of classes in schools and intercommunal educational groups (or RPI) in the department, we find Autun. Indeed, a closure in the priority education zone at the Victor-Hugo school is planned as well as in primary school at René Monrose/Clos Jovet. At the elementary level, the commune of Curgy would lose a position just like the RPIs of La Celle-en-Morvan/Sommant/Tavernay and La Grande-Verrière/Monthelon/Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray.
