On March 30, the UBE hosted a meeting under the sign of student solidarity. Meeting in the office of President Vincent Thomas, representatives of the university and EDF formalized two major commitments: the delivery of a check for 8,000 euros as part of the EDF Solidarité Trophies and the signing of a partnership agreement.
Support in the face of energy difficulties
The grant awarded by EDF supports a project carried out by the UBE Student Solidarity Commission. Intended for students facing energy poverty, this system combines several forms of assistance. It provides for actions to raise awareness of eco-friendly actions, individualized support for identified situations, the distribution of energy vouchers for students in greatest difficulty, the organization of practical workshops as well as the provision of equipment to reduce consumption.
A long-term partnership
With the signing of this agreement, UBE and EDF wish to structure a lasting cooperation. The energy company notably offers access to the PASS’EDF portal and puts its expertise at the service of the social supports of the Student Solidarity Commission to help them manage the situations encountered. Through this initiative, the university reaffirms its commitment to inclusion, equal opportunities and student success.
