LMonday 06 avril 2026 at the Lycée Municipal Vénégré in Ouagadougou, the rise of colors brought together the teaching and administrative staff and collaborators of the Minister of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training. After this civic act, Minister Moumouni Zoungrana addressed students and staff to call for the construction of a “new Burkinabé”, based on cultural authenticity and economic sovereignty.
After the raising of the national flag which mobilized the entire educational community and the ministerial delegation, the Minister of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training addressed the stakeholders in his department.

Professor Moumouni Zoungrana insisted on the importance of national sovereignty. This gathering made it possible to raise awareness among the establishment’s 3,245 students about the issues of identity and local production.
The minister insisted on the need for youth to break with acculturation to become authentic citizens. He notably took the example of hair aesthetics to illustrate his point.

According to him, the “new Burkinabé” must favor endogenous values, such as traditional braids, instead of imported synthetic wigs and locks. « We cannot build a country with the heads of others »a-t-il affirmé.

Beyond appearance, this new type of citizen must be committed to the country’s food sovereignty. The Minister of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training urged the educational community to support national production.
He recalled that consuming Burkina Faso is an essential lever for strengthening the economy and national dignity. This message was carried by the publishing slogan: “My plate, my pride”.

The minister also linked this social transformation to the role of supervisors. He paid tribute to the teaching and administrative staff. For him, their resilience in the face of current challenges is the foundation on which this patriotic consciousness must be built.

The Principal of the Charles Roger Yabré high school welcomed these guidelines, specifying that his establishment, with its 115 staff members, will ensure the transmission of these values on a daily basis. The students’ support was confirmed by their spokesperson, Daouda Zerbo, who launched a clear slogan in favor of local products: “If it’s not local, down with it! ».

This visit is part of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement 2026.
