After several days dedicated to sport and its values, the Olympic and Paralympic week (SOP) ended on Friday at the elementary school. The students took part in different activities, including the resumption of the flashmob of the National School Sports Day, a “mannequin challenge” around sporting gestures as well as hikes adapted to each level as part of the Parcours du Cœur.
Last highlight, the intervention of the Departmental Olympic Sports Committee (CDOS) of Hérault which came with its traveling exhibition dedicated to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Made up of educational panels illustrated with photographs and historical elements, this exhibition retraces the major stages in the history of the Games, from their origins to today, while allowing you to understand their symbols and evolution. The speakers Agnès Noirjean, general secretary, Thibault Quadruppani, development agent and Charlotte Becquart, work-study student, proposed an approach that was both interactive and educational around the Olympic and Paralympic world.
Workshops designed according to the level of the students
“During this period, we are present almost daily in schools. It is a very busy time, even if our actions continue throughout the year,” they said. The workshops were designed according to the students’ levels. The youngest discovered the Olympic symbols, in particular the flame and its route, through simple exchanges and guided observation of the exhibition. “Above all, we seek to involve them and get them to think for themselves,” a indiqué Agnès Noirjean.
The older students, for their part, took part in an interactive quiz allowing them to explore different sporting disciplines and enrich their knowledge. These activities were supplemented by observation games around the Olympic and Paralympic mascots.
Throughout this rich week, the teaching team should be saluted for their commitment and involvement, which allowed the students to fully experience this event.
