For the first time, Monday March 30, the college organized a careers forum for 4th grade students. On this occasion, seventeen professionals from various backgrounds attended, thus offering students a concrete opportunity to discover the world of work.
The event took place over one afternoon, according to a well-structured organization. For two hours, the students, divided into small groups, participated in a rotation allowing them to meet several speakers who were grouped by sector of activity: crafts, commerce, security, catering, law, medical, sport, social, teaching and heritage…
To fuel the discussions, the students relied on a logbook prepared in advance, allowing them to ask specific questions about the career paths, skills and realities of the professions presented.
Secondly, half an hour was left to the initiative of the students, who were able to freely meet the professionals of their choice. This moment particularly favored spontaneous exchanges.
The professionals were very appreciated for their availability and their attentiveness. They knew how to adapt their speech to a young audience, respond with clarity and encourage the students’ curiosity.
Beyond the discovery of professions, this first forum above all made it possible to create a link between the school and the professional world. There is no doubt that this initiative will be a lasting part of the life of the college.
