UQAT signs three new international agreements

To consolidate long-standing partnerships, UQAT signs three new agreements. Two of these agreements are concluded with the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA), UQAT’s historic partner in the field of educational sciences. This partnership, started in 1991 thanks to the Teaching and Research Unit (UER) in educational sciences, constitutes the oldest university exchange program of the establishment, but also in Quebec.

These agreements provide in particular for the relaunch of the short educational stay program, better known as Eurostage, which allows students to experience intercultural immersion in Quebec and French schools. They also ensure the continuation of student exchanges for stays of one or two sessions, with the possibility of carrying out practical teaching internships.

“ Mobility and international collaborations are essential to the development of research and university training. This mission constitutes a privileged opportunity to strengthen our ties with European partners and to reaffirm that Quebec remains a leading study destination,” indicates Vincent Rousson, in a press release.

A third agreement with the Gustave Eiffel University to encourage the pursuit of studies between certain programs in audiovisual, creation and new media. This UER initiative in creation and new media will notably allow undergraduate students to pursue a year of study at UQAT in the personalized certificate program in creation and new media, while graduates of programs in image, multimedia and audiovisual will be able to access the master’s degree in digital creation offered by the University. Since the start of this collaboration in 2017, more than 70 students have already benefited from this mobility between the two establishments.

Sonia Demontigny, director of UQAT International, emphasized that international students play a major role in the intellectual, scientific and cultural vitality of the University. She added that their presence enriches training experiences and strengthens international collaborations, a central aspect of the establishment’s mission. His department was also closely involved in the preparation of this mission.
