The increase in drownings among children under 6 years old has revealed the need at the national level to install, from a very young age, i.e. 3 or 4 years old, a new learning block called “Water Ease”.
This program gives the child a first positive experience of water and the fundamentals of knowing how to swim: entering and exiting the water, moving 10 m without land support, immersing themselves, letting themselves float and, if necessary, being able to turn on their back to call for help in case of difficulty.
The early acquisition of these skills constitutes the double advantage of making the child safer in the water by teaching them good reflexes and of promoting later learning to swim.

The main stages of acquiring aquatic ease
The acquisition of aquatic ease goes through 3 levels corresponding to the construction of the floating body, which is carried out in a space where the child has no footing and without aid for flotation:

  • Level 1: enter the water alone, move around in complete immersion (head underwater) and exit the water alone.
  • Level 2: jump or fall into the water, let yourself rise, float in different ways, return to the edge and exit alone.
  • Level 3: enter the water by the head, rise to the surface, cover 10 m in a prone position with head submerged, float on your back with your pelvis on the surface. : Aquatic Ease before Swimming Knowledge
