As part of the ministerial plan “Citizens of Sport”, the Cergy Pontoise Natation club in collaboration with the National Sports Agency, the Agglomeration of Cergy-Pontoise and the French Swimming Federation, is setting up these courses as part of the “I’m learning to swim” operation.
This action, launched at the national level by the Ministry of Sports, is offered to children aged 7 to 12, who do not know how to swim and who reside primarily within the Priority Districts of the City Policy and/or in Rural Revitalization Zones.

The major objectives and challenges are to reduce inequalities of access to sporting activities by supporting swimming learning modules outside the school term, to offer as many children as possible the essential background for the practice of aquatic and nautical activities, identified by the “Sauv’nage” test of the French Swimming School and ultimately, that all children entering 6th grade know how to swim.
