Damascus, (SANA) Minister of Education, Mohammad Abdel Rahman Turko, met with the President and Executive Director of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), David Miliband, as well as the accompanying delegation, to discuss prospects for cooperation and strengthening partnerships to support the priorities of the ministry and its development plans for the educational sector.

During the meeting held this Wednesday at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, the two parties examined common areas of work, including response plans, adopted strategies and their implementation mechanisms, with the aim of improving the quality of education and strengthening the effectiveness of programs for students at all grade levels.

They also discussed ways to ensure equitable access to education, with a focus on early childhood, as well as efforts to make up for learning losses, particularly for students returning from neighboring countries, to facilitate their reintegration into the school environment and continuation of their journey. educational.

Both parties highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership with parents and those responsible for children, and consolidating their role as an essential pillar of support for the educational process, thus contributing to a more stable and effective school environment.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a non-governmental organization specializing in humanitarian aid and international development. It began operations in Syria in 2012, after encountering difficulties operating in several regions due to restrictions imposed by the ousted regime.
