A morning of training for school teachers was offered this Wednesday April 1st. In total, in the Hérault department, 107 primary and nursery schools are concerned, as well as 15 middle schools and 21 high schools.

This Wednesday, April 1, there was class for nearly 700 teachers from Hérault schools, gathered in the morning at the Palais des Congrès in Cap d’Agde. An educational activity for teachers who participate in the Hérault Digital Educational Territory, represented by its project manager, Laurie Bassot. Who explains that this device “is part of the France 2030 investment plan. It is being tested in twelve French departments, including Hérault.”

Communities and material investments

The “TNE†, as it is most often abbreviated, is entering its fourth and final year of experimentation. It makes it possible to provide teachers with a whole range of digital solutions: applications, software, various resources… You still have to find your way around and know how to make them work, which was the aim of this meeting. “We have dedicated teachers, who will train their colleagues in the field”continues Laurie Bassot. Obviously, between city schools and rural schools, the system can more or less apply. Because it relies in part, at least in primary and nursery schools, on the capacity of municipalities to invest in digital equipment, as is the case in Agde, for example, where teachers benefit from the necessary tools.

Artificial intelligence, a theme often discussed

“Eleven local authorities in Hérault (including the Department, but also, more broadly, the Occitanie region, Editor’s note) followed us in this project”recalls the project manager. In total, 107 schools, 15 middle schools and 21 high schools are integrated into the digital educational territory of Hérault which, if it enters its home stretch, could see a continuation in the months and years to come. “An extension to the project has indeed been announced”recalls Laurie Bassot. Which could concern all or part of the French departments, some of which, as we know, are not really ahead on the issue of digital education. However, this is one of the challenges of tomorrow, particularly on the theme of artificial intelligence, often discussed this morning.
