Considered a major academic event in the field of physical education and sport, aimed at students nationwide, the conference opens up many new perspectives and conveys optimistic messages on the intelligence, creativity, and application of modern scientific and technological advances to the development of the country’s physical education and sports sector, in a context of strong international integration.
Working together to shape the future of the sports and physical education sector.
The conference welcomed many delegates, teachers, and students from twelve prestigious universities, both Chinese and international. More than just a platform for young enthusiasts of scientific research, it also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the University of Physical Education and Sports in Ho Chi Minh City, a significant event marking the growth and development of this reference university in training and coaching high-level human resources in the field of physical education and sports in South China.
Professor Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice-Rector of the University of Physical Education and Sports in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: “The 17th National Conference on student scientific research in physical education and sports is a major academic event. It provides students from educational institutions nationwide with a platform to present, exchange, and share the results of their research. It also stimulates student research, strengthens university exchanges, and brings forth new ideas and practical solutions for the development of sports in China.”
This year’s conference stood out with 32 scientific communications. The academic spirit prevailed, covering a variety of topics, from practical teaching in physical education to promoting community health, researching the application of technologies in athlete tracking and training, and exploring innovative methods in school physical education.
Representatives from leading universities in the field, from various regions such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Vinh, Hue, Da Nang, Dong Thap, Tra Vinh, were also present, as well as representatives from international sports organizations and partner universities from China and Thailand.
The revolutionary foundations of modern sports.
One highlight of the conference was the remarkable progress, both quantitative and qualitative, in the research conducted by student groups. In a context of innovation and increased international integration, where the role of sports and physical education is recognized as contributing to non-polluting sectors, improving the quality of human resources, and enhancing the country’s international reputation, young researchers are increasingly interested in practical applications and solutions to critical issues in the field.
For instance, the research group led by Tran Thi Kim Thoa and Diep Nhu Anh from UPES won a special prize in the oral presentation category. Their topic, “Application of new methods in school sports training,” was praised for its practicality, scientific rigor, and potential for generalization.
Diep Nhu Anh proudly stated: “We have always strived to encourage students to take more interest in school sports. The support from the institution and our teachers is the springboard for our scientific ideas to gradually materialize, thus contributing to promoting a positive culture of physical activity among today’s youth.”
The special poster presentation award was given to a group of students from Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports for their project on applying artificial intelligence to analyze the technical skills of young athletes, aligning closely with the trend of digitization in today’s era.
Research results not only help improve training efficiency but also invigorate, innovate, and make teaching and training methods in the physical education sector in the northern provinces more attractive. Many outstanding projects, especially from students at Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, and UPES, focus on applied research in education, enhancing the school sports environment, and promoting sustainable sports practice.
Linking student scientific research to pedagogical innovation.
The success of the conference lies not only in the number of topics covered but also in the increasingly practical nature of scientific research, serving the reform and gradually elevating the level of the sports and physical education sector in Vietnam.
Professor Chau Vinh Huy, Rector of the University of Physical Education and Sports in Ho Chi Minh City, commented: “The research and initiatives of young people enrich the theoretical foundation and complement effective solutions; thereby improving the efficiency of teaching and training, and developing the sports movement in schools and the community.”
“We have observed that today’s students are not only academically bright but also actively engaged in research and ready to face challenges. This spirit is an essential foundation for discovering and nurturing young talents in this field; simultaneously, it highlights the importance of physical education within the cultural values of modern human beings,” emphasized Professor Chau Vinh Huy.
The variety of cooperation models between national and international universities cannot be overlooked. Many foreign delegations participating in the conference shared their experiences in physical education, cooperation in applied research using modern technologies, and sports psychology among students.
In addition to the top groups, the conference also saw the participation of many students from local schools such as Dong Thap and Tra Vinh … these young members contribute to spreading the research and training movement through projects related to regional specificities, local resource development, and the goal of training high-quality human resources for the future.
Dr. Vo Anh Thu, Vice-Rector of the University of Physical Education and Sports in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: “Cooperation between the university and society, as well as applied research, are essential factors for the innovative development of the sports sector. We will continue to provide maximum support to students in scientific research, building on the success of this conference to promote innovation among youth and train high-level human resources, as per the mission the university has set for the past 50 years.”
The 17th National Conference on student scientific research in the field of physical education and sports concluded with valuable initiatives, research results, and practical solutions aimed at the sustainable development of the country’s physical education and sports sector.
The open atmosphere, collaborative spirit, in-depth academic exchanges between scientists, teachers, and students, and the presence of international partners provide concrete foundations for young minds to continue flourishing. Innovative ideas and models emerging from this conference will spread wider, contributing to shaping a modern, professional, and scientific sports system and actively participating in the formation of accomplished citizens, a cause that is close to the heart of the Party and the State.
With a 50-year tradition, the University of Physical Education and Sports in Hanoi and its partner universities will continue to steadily pursue their mission of education, research, pioneering innovation, contributing to the construction of a healthy, dynamic, and integrated young generation, affirming Vietnam’s position on the international stage, in line with the spirit that the national student scientific conference has inspired, inspires, and will continue to inspire, instilling confidence in the future.
