During the “Admission Advice – Career Orientation – Job Fair” day organized on March 29 by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities of the National University of Vietnam in Hanoi, Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu, head of the training and student affairs department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, stated that in 2024 and 2025, the employment rate of students in social sciences and humanities fields within 12 months was quite high, at over 90%.
Thanks to their solid professional knowledge, mastery of foreign languages, and interpersonal skills, graduates have not only held many positions in Party and State agencies at central and local levels but also successfully adapted to the dynamic environment of the private sector. Large companies like Samsung and LG have shown a preference for hiring students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In addition to excellent language skills, students also gain strong knowledge of economics, culture, and society in the countries where they work. While the university has not conducted a salary survey, several sources, including alumni, indicate that many students earn between 1,000 and 2,000 dollars per month, mainly in foreign-owned companies.
Furthermore, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, the rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, added that the institution prioritizes interdisciplinary and transversal training to enable graduates to work in different departments under certain conditions. Based on employer feedback and as part of their program adaptation strategy, the university will enhance students’ cross-cutting skills like digital skills, communication, adaptability, and artificial intelligence to meet the increasing requirements of employers and the job market.
At the end of March 2026, the university awarded degrees to 300 students who completed their studies early with excellent academic results, within three or three and a half years. Issuing degrees early to students who meet the requirements is a strength of the institution and a valuable resource for employers, according to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan.
Moreover, apart from employment opportunities for university graduates, the job fair also offers many scholarship opportunities for specialized students to study in higher education institutions in Vietnam and abroad.
Overall, the open day event “USSH 2026: Admission Advice – Career Orientation – Job Fair” attracted more than 5,000 students, interns, and companies/employers.
