Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized in New York City after falling ill during a performance in the Broadway production of ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical.’

The star had to leave the show on Tuesday evening and was taken to a local hospital.

“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly taken to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,” her representative told the press.

“We will provide more updates as more information becomes available.”

Megan made her Broadway debut earlier this year in the role of nightclub impresario Harold Zidler, originally played by Tony Award winner Danny Burstein.

Her engagement at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre was scheduled to run from March 24 to May 17, but it is uncertain how the show will proceed in her absence.

“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor,” Megan said in her debut.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is set to close on July 26 after seven years on Broadway, with 2,265 regular performances and 24 previews, making it the 36th longest-running production in Broadway history.
