(Alliance News) – Webuild Spa announced on Tuesday that its subsidiary Clough has won a contract worth 116 million euros for the design and construction of the “Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2.” This is a 220 MW open-cycle gas power plant located in Kwinana, 40 kilometers south of Perth, which will be built for AGL Energy.
“This initiative is part of a larger strategy to support Australia’s energy transition, for which Webuild and Clough are already committed to complex hydroelectric projects such as Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy production project currently under construction in the country,” the company said in a statement.
The K2 project will be located near the current Kwinana Swift Power Station, which Clough also contributed to construction, within an industrial area with significant energy infrastructure. This setup will help minimize connection works and take advantage of logistical and technical synergies.
Webuild’s stock is up 1.2% at 2.28 euros per share.
