The Financial Inclusion Observatory announces the launch, from April 6, of the “Financial Education Road Trip”, organized as part of Global Money Week 2026.
Carried out in partnership with several institutional and technical players, this initiative provides for a series of local actions in different regions of the country, aiming to bring the notions of financial management closer to the general public, particularly young people.
The program will begin on Monday April 6 with a meeting entitled “Let’s talk about money, without taboos”, bringing together decision-makers and experts around the issues of financial education.
On April 7 and 8, activities will continue in Zaghouan under the theme “Manage your money like a boss”. Then a stage is planned, on April 9, in La Marsa to offer practical financial advice, before closing the program, on April 10 in Beja with a session dedicated to the orientation of project leaders in search of financing.
This tour aims to raise awareness, inform and support young people, students and future entrepreneurs around the fundamentals of budgetary management, savings and entrepreneurship. Through this approach, the organizers intend to promote financial education as an essential lever for inclusion, autonomy and economic success.
Global Money Week (GMW) is an international financial education awareness campaign launched in 2012 by Child and Youth Finance International (CYFI), a global network dedicated to promoting the financial inclusion of children and youth. At its origin, the initiative aimed to respond to a widely shared observation: the lack of financial knowledge among young people constitutes a barrier to their economic autonomy and their inclusion in formal financial systems. The campaign was designed to encourage public authorities, financial institutions, educational establishments and civil society organizations to organize, each year, educational and interactive activities for young people.
Since 2019, global coordination of GMW has been provided by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), through its International Network for Financial Education (INFE). This transfer is part of a desire to strengthen the impact and reach of the campaign by integrating it into the OECD’s overall efforts in the area of financial literacy.
Today, Global Money Week is celebrated in more than 170 countries and mobilizes millions of participants around the world each year.
It offers workshops, conferences, educational games and communication campaigns aimed at equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and behaviors necessary to make financial decisions.
