Crimson Desert continues to evolve at a steady pace with a major update that finally corrects one of its main technical flaws. Until now, the game did not support Intel Arc graphics cards, simply preventing users from launching the title. With patch 1.03.00, this problem is now a thing of the past.

Pearl Abyss not only formalizes compatibility with Intel GPUs, but also takes the opportunity to introduce several important optimizations. An update which marks a real turning point for the PC players concerned.

XeSS 3.0 and Frame Generation to boost Crimson Desert performance

Support for Intel Arc GPUs doesn’t come alone. It is accompanied by the integration of XeSS 3.0, the brand’s upscaling technology, as well as Frame Generation. The objective is clear: significantly improve performance by generating additional images using artificial intelligence.

In fact, this allows for a much smoother experience, even in the most demanding areas of the game. However, Pearl Abyss specifies that some first generation Intel Arc cards may still encounter visual problems with these technologies. This is therefore a first step which will be refined in future updates.

An update focused on gaming comfort

Beyond technical improvements, this patch also focuses on user experience. Several options are emerging to improve gaming comfort, such as the possibility of displaying weapons or not, adjusting the minimum text size or even speeding up dialogues up to four times.

Camera adjustments, additional accessibility options, and improved overall readability round out these changes. Discreet developments, but essential in a game so dense and rich in mechanics.

Refined gameplay and smoother progression

Patch 1.03.00 also overhauls certain gameplay elements. Fast travel becomes more flexible and can now be used in previously blocked situations, such as while on a mount, while swimming or climbing.

The boss targeting system has been improved, and new skills have been added for playable characters. These adjustments respond directly to player feedback and are part of a clear desire to make the experience smoother and more enjoyable.

Improvements also on consoles

Console players also benefit from this update. Ray tracing is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, while the PS5 Pro benefits from a specific sharpness setting. At the same time, numerous fixes improve advanced quests, the location of important elements and overall navigation in the game.

On PC, the patch also adds support for new latency reduction technologies and various visual and graphics fixes. The whole contributes to a more stable and better optimized experience.

With this update, Crimson Desert confirms Pearl Abyss’ strategy: offering regular and reactive monitoring based on community feedback. Three weeks after its launch, the game continues to attract a large number of players, proof that the studio is on the right track to permanently establish its title in the video game landscape.
