We’ve never seen the logo before Disney+ appear before such crude images of MCU. With the first trailer of The Punisher : One Last Kill, Jon Bernthal returns to Frank Castle in a TV film rated 18+, which clearly does not seek to cut corners.

Positionné entre Daredevil : Born Again et le film Spider-Man : Brand New Dayce Marvel Television Special Presentation of about 60 minutes wants to reinstall a street-level, dirty and desperate Punisher. The question is simple: does this trailer confirm that Disney+ is finally letting Bernthal follow through on his version of the character?

The Punisher: One Last Kill trailer: how far does Disney+ dare to go?

The trailer for The Punisher : One Last Kill opens with a New York under siege: bursts of automatic weapons, close-up gunshot wounds, baseball bat hits and bodies thrown from buildings. Castle progresses through the alleys, covered in blood, with a new tactical vest with a white skull and a longer beard, far from the smooth heroes of the MCU.

The tone is not ambiguous. Marvel summarizes the premise thusly, as quoted by KultureGeek: Frank “searches for meaning beyond revenge, when an unexpected force draws him back into the fight”. Disney+ drives the point home with a slogan displayed on the screen: “To find peace, he will first lose it”. The TV-MA / 18+ rating appears clearly, signaling that the platform is finally taking on graphic violence in the Marvel universe.

We also see the “Gnucci’s” sign at the bend of a map, a nod to the mafia of Gnucci and à Ma Gnucci in the comics, without his role being confirmed. Visually, everything indicates a Punisher on the verge of rupture, closer to the Netflix series than to classic Disney+ productions.

What does The Punisher: One Last Kill trailer reveal about Frank Castle?

Behind the violence, the trailer mainly highlights Frank’s trauma. A little girl calls out for her father, an obvious reminder of Castle’s murdered family. Almost nightmarish visions follow one another, between deserted amusement parks and corridors drowned in smoke, as if the Punisher was trapped in his memories as much as in the streets of New York.

The action takes place some time after his escape from the prison of Wilson Fiskévoquée dance Daredevil : Born Again. Castle tries to hold on to something other than revenge, but everything in the images shows him falling back into the cycle of hatred. The title One Last Kill also poses a real question: last expiatory mission or last illusion of a man who only knows how to exist in permanent war?

The return of Jason R. Moore in Curtis Hoyleformer brother in arms already present in the series The Punisher on Netflix, reinforces this intimate dimension. Hoyle appears as one of Frank’s few links to a normal life, in a story that seems more psychological than tactical.

When to see The Punisher: One Last Kill on Disney+ and what role in the MCU?

The Punisher : One Last Kill will arrive on Disney+ on May 12, 2026 worldwide, and May 13, 2026 on Disney+ France, one week after the finale of Daredevil : Born Again season 2 scheduled for around May 6. This timing makes it a true epilogue to the Hell’s Kitchen war, while preparing for the announced confrontation between Frank Castle and Spider-Man In Spider-Man : Brand New Dayexpected in cinemas in France on July 29, 2026.

Réalisé par Reinaldo Marcus Greenthe TV film is co-written and co-produced by Jon Bernthal himself. For fans of the Netflix version, this creative control is a guarantee of continuity: it is the same broken and unfiltered Punisher who is now officially part of Phase 6 of the MCU. It remains to be seen whether this “One Last Kill” will really be its last contract or the beginning of a new, much darker era for Marvel on Disney+.
