MAPLE LEAFS NOTES

The Maple Leafs head into Thursday night’s game after losing their last three games, including a 4-0 defeat to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. Goalie Anthony Stolarz got injured in the first period and was replaced by Joseph Woll, who made 14 saves on 17 shots.

William Nylander has been in great form lately, with 10 points in his last 10 games and leading Toronto with 73 points this season. Meanwhile, John Tavares has been the top scorer in the team’s past 10 games.

Matthew Knies had a standout performance against the Los Angeles Kings but was unable to score against the Capitals. Goalie Stolarz is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, while Auston Matthews is out for the season due to injury.

Toronto is currently in seventh place in the Atlantic Division with 78 points and has been eliminated from the 2026 playoff race. Their power-play ranks 17th in the NHL, while their penalty kill is ranked third.
